Environmental Responsibility
Only harvest in areas that have a plentiful supply
Nordic Naturals' fish are harvested only from abundant waters: our Arctic cod/Skrei are harvested in Arctic Norway outside of Bodø, and our anchovies and sardines are harvested from the Norwegian Sea and the Southern Pacific Ocean, which are some of the world's healthiest oceans. Sardines and anchovies, given their short reproductive cycles, are considered ideal species for sustainability. Nordic Naturals also ensures that 100% of all fish harvested are utilized for human or animal consumption.

Optimal Blend of Natural Stabilizers
Nordic Naturals has spent over five years researching the impact of various natural stabilizers on
fish oil. A recent study completed at Nutrasource Diagnostics in 2005 showed that Nordic Naturals’ product freshness level (measured by peroxide value) increased only 6% over a 36-month period, compared to other products showing an increase of more than 50% over an 18-month period. Exceeds International Pharmaceutical Standards
Standards are set to protect consumers
Governmental fish oil quality standards do not exist in the United States. To ensure consistent quality, Nordic Naturals adheres to and exceeds the stringent Norwegian Medicinal Standard (NMS) and the European Pharmacopoeia Standard (EPS) as well as the voluntary standards set by the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) and the Global Organization for EPA and DHA Omega-3s (GOED) for all of our products. These standards guarantee quality products by setting maximum allowances on peroxides, heavy metals, dioxins, and PCBs.

No Heavy Metals
Nordic Naturals products show no detectable lead or mercury when tested down to 0.1 ppm, which is 10 times below the Norwegian Medicinal Standard and European Pharmacopoeia Standard limits.

Dioxins
Nordic Naturals oils have been tested down to 1.0 ppt with zero detection of dioxins. The Norwegian Medicinal Standard and European Pharmacopoeia Standard limits for dioxins are 2 ppt. Analysis is based on the toxicity equivalent testing methodology established by the World Health Organization (WHO).

PCBs
Nordic Naturals oils show no detectable Dioxin-like PCBs when tested down to 1.0 ppt. The Norwegian Medicinal Standard limit for PCBs is 3 ppt. No Limit has been established by the European Pharmacopoeia Standard. Analysis is based on the toxicity equivalent testing methodology established by the WHO.

California's Proposition 65

Using the most advanced testing methods to detect PCBs, third-party tests show that Nordic Naturals products have no detectable levels at one part per trillion of Non-Ortho and Mono-Ortho PCBs and are compliant with the WHO.
